Jack Ryan from the whole series of books Tom Clancy wrote with him as the main character.

I have many choices:
Dirk Pitt from Clive Cussler books
Stephanie Plum from Janet Evanovich books
Jack Reacher from Lee Child books
....but I think that the one character that really stands out for me would have to be Ernest Hemingway's characters. Somehow or another, it's him he's writing about, but it could also be you he is writing about. Very interesting man. Very sad how he died.
