Why don't we read?

There are many reasons, but I tend to agree with David Foster Wallace when he says "it's the dread of reading."

I think books can be little bombs going off in our heads, and the good books that make us examine ourselves can be dangerous, and even frightening.

I'm not sure if it can entirely be blamed on a busy schedule.

People often ask what you can do with reading, whereas the real question is what reading will do with you.

My situation is the polar opposite. I can't put my book down.

That's why I joined BookTalk. I expected to talk endlessly about books, books and more books.

The way to my heart is a good book or a gift certificate for many. :-)
