8th in AronRa's series deals with mutations. What they really are, and how they function.

I am doing a separate thread for each of these to keep discussion focused.

Popular culture has done a number on us, in a variety of ways.

Among them is that the fact of mutation means anything goes. That means turtles can become ninjas, humans can telekinetically control metal, and that any mutation is a membership card to the hideous monster club.

But mutations are just modifications in our DNA. They happen at birth, as Aron points out, over a hundred per person, and continue to happen throughout life as our cells regenerate.

His video delves into the topic in good detail.

There were a couple of errors in this video, and Aron himself has posted some corrections. That's the essence of scientific integrity. Good on ya Aron.
