Re: November & December 2012 Fiction Book Selection
I think I'd be interested in The Hobbit. I've read the Guide once and don't think I want to do it again. There's a lot to be said about the Guide, but for some reason I just didn't find it a book I wanted to read twice.

Re: November & December 2012 Fiction Book Selection
I read "The Hobbit" many years ago and loved it. So I would be interested in reading that again. Also, I actually do have a copy of "Hitchhikers" Chris somewhere, but I have never read it. I think I could find it by November, so I would join in for that one too.
If we were to read, "The Hobbit", if there is interest, maybe we could continue with the following stories? I've never read "The Lord of the Rings" novels.

Re: November & December 2012 Fiction Book Selection
As of right now we have 6 people with an interest in The Hobbit and 5 people with an interest in Hitchhiker's Guide. For the most part these two groups of people overlap. Everyone seems to like both books.
Hopefully more people chime in here but as of now I don't see any reason why we shouldn't do BOTH books concurrently during November and December and possibly into January of 2013. Comments are welcome.

Re: November & December 2012 Fiction Book Selection
I am fairly new to this forum, but it seems from past selection that the group has discussed some very serious literature over the last few months. So it is good suggestion to move to something like fantasy.
I would vote for the Hobbit as I am not a big fan of the Hitchhiker's Guide.

I'm liking the idea of doing both books concurrently right now. Would any of you read and participate in the discussion of both books at the same time? Keep in mind this would be a 2 to 3 month discussion.
