I have tried my hand at both Litecoin and Dogecoin. Mining takes a powerful video card (or two, three). Bitcoin has been mined beyond profitability and Litecoin is not far behind. Dogecoin (which started out as a joke on crypto currency) is easier to obtain.

Both Litecoin and Dogecoin are no where near worth as much as Bitcoin (DogeCoin is pretty much worth pennies).

To paraphrase Capt. Picard, "we have been privileged to be present at the emergence of a new [form of money], NOT."

Bitcoin CEO found dead.
