Not at all, Chris. I posted about something that interests me - Book collecting and reading - plus I spend quite a bit of time on my website. I do hope readers of this forum will also be interested in my site but that is not my purpose in joining. I might think about buying an ad but that only makes sense if I were making money from my site - which I don't (less than $10.00 in the last year). I blog about things I find interesting in the "book community". I'm an avid reader and look forward to chatting with folks about books, authors, and, of course, collecting. Very sorry if I came across wrong...

We get a ton of people joining only to tell us about their site with little to no interest in actually enjoying our site. When I see someone posting about their own site in an Intro thread I have learned that we will probably be wasting our time responding. The goal was to get an inbound link. But it is good to see you actually responding.

Hi bookcollecting, and welcome to our forum. I collect Easton Press and Franklin Library leatherbound books, most of which I buy on eBay. I buy a few directly from Easton Press, mainly because I hope they will stay in business and not go the way of Franklin Library.

I did check out your website, and can see easily what Chris is saying. It looks to me like you're selling books, but if you would care to set us straight and explain what your website is all about, I'm sure we would find it interesting.

I have a few signed editions, but only those that come via eBay.

Hi, Dick. I do have a category called books for sale but it is empty. I can't seem to part with my books . It would be nice to make the site a going concern but it does not seem to be in the cards. I have Google notify me whenever anything book related is posted online and I write articles on some of the interesting things I see out there. It is a way to expand my "bookish" interests and I enjoy it. My real business is selling home decor items on eBay. 3 cancer diagnosis left me unable to work in my career - marketing... so I have been able to make a pretty good living on eBay - I won't list my eBay site link here as that would be "shameless self promotion".

I have a lot of Easton and Franklin books - many of which I bought on eBay. It is worth checking the Easton site as occasionally they have better prices than those found on eBay for their books. I feel the same as you, it is a shame about Franklin books going under. They made some beautiful books. Have you ever looked into the Folio Society? Their books are a bit pricey but are always of very good quality.

I especially enjoy fine bound books and signed books. My favorites from my collection are mostly from authors I really like: Truman Capote, William Styron, Tennessee Williams and others. I also have quite a group of science fiction first editions.

Hi bookcollecting. Yes, I'm familiar with the Folio Society, and yes, they are very expensive. I have gotten onto their mailing list, probably because of my purchases directly from Easton.

I get the Easton catalog and try to buy a book every month from them directly, even if it costs a few dollars more than the going price for the same book on eBay. It's not that I'm going to singlehandedly keep Easton afloat, but I want to do my share. And you're right - very often the price from Easton beats what you pay on eBay.

I'll check out your website more carefully to see if I can find the articles you mentioned - your activities sound interesting.

Do you happen to have any of the "100 Greatest Books Ever Written" by Easton Press that you might consider selling? I'm 33 books short of having the full collection.

I will check for you. We just moved into a huge new home, took all of my books from storage and bought tons of bookcases - which are all now full - so I might have a few I'd consider parting with. Kinda' depends on what I have and how badly I want to read it. I think I have record of what I paid for most of my books so I'd just charge you whatever I paid. Some I did pretty well on - a few I just had to have so paid a bit more for - You know how it is... I will get back to you.
