I would say "other". I prefer literature in translation if that could be a category.

Re: What is your favorite fiction genre?
My vote went for other, mainly because there are so many sub-genres. I love fantasy, I love mysteries, and my historical fiction tends to lean towards alternate fiction, which technically would fall under fantasy. I think I need a calculator now

Re: What is your favorite fiction genre?
I don't really have one favourite genre. When I have to decide what kind of fiction I read for purposes of entertainment only, then I would choose Fantasy/Science Fiction. But since I had to choose only one I picked Fantasy.

Exactly. It has to be excellent or I can't even begin to enjoy it. High standards are a curse!George Ricker wrote:I have a strong preference for science fiction. But I must qualify that by saying I enjoy reading any well-crafted fiction. And I do like a good mystery from time to time.

Mystery/Detective. Just guessing I would say that genre represents 75% of my reading. Lawrence Block, Dashiell Hammett are always on my list to be read. I also tend to prefer older novels.

I enjoy to read novels that have overlapping genres. As long as it is a good storyline, I don't really care.

Re: What is your favorite fiction genre?
Oh there are so many i can chose, i read bits and pieces of everything, i love thrillers and mystery though am disappointed when i guess the correct ending anywhere prior to the very last page. I used to not like fantasy as a genre but find I am loving it this year for some reason. I finally went with historical fiction though drama and science fiction have also large sections of my bookcase
Re: What is your favorite fiction genre?
Though I have more liking for historical fiction, I read all types of fiction books provided they are well-written.
