Re: Recommend a specific book for me to read

If a movie of warped reality then Pans Labyrinth, in book form check out Luminarium (also the wiki doesn't do The Name of the Wind justice.)

Re: Hardback or Paperback

I had meant to add more, but yea E-books are a good idea, less resources used (paper) somewhat cheaper.

Re: The newness of being new.

I find that fantasy is in an odd spot...but The Name of the Wind is a fresh breath in the fantasy world.

To be fair, the writer's vision is never really understood merely theorized.

Re: I know alot of people have nooks and kindles but...

I've been considering a Kindle myself, I love hardbacks...I find kindles being a bit more logical to use over paper books. Less paper used, more power used(charging), more space saved (less selves needed).

Re: New to the site

I'll welcome you to the site, seems to be a bit of a ghost town sadly...but perhaps some activity with what few are here will help rejuvenate it a bit.

Hardback or Paperback

So which do you prefer?

For me Hardback anytime I can get a hardback version, the weight the feel and of course that book smell that for me paperbacks simply don't have. Hardbacks also just look better on the shelf (in my opinion).
