Re: What’s your take on citizen journalism?

I watched some of his videos. It seems like he tries to answer the bigger questions outside the box. I have a few friends who debate like he does. They're the kind of people who end up staying after everyone's left. Many a night I've set up talking with them. Good conversations.

Re: What’s your take on citizen journalism?

Do some research dammit! :appl: I totally agree, and I doubt the big name celebrity commentators are as researched as they claim just as I doubt they write their own books. I don't watch as much 24/7 news as I used to as I enjoy reading the news more, but nevertheless, I'm supposed to believe someb...

Re: What’s your take on citizen journalism?

But I think we need to realize that reporting and commentary are two totally different things. I agree. To me there is a difference. I’m okay with a person sitting in a chair without notes or news article talking about what they believe is the case or happening. I see that as commentary and interpr...

What’s your take on citizen journalism?

A lot of podcasters read news articles and offer their commentary. Many argue they’re offering something better than main stream news by providing overlooked information, yet one of the complaints about main stream news is reliance on personal commentary. So... Is citizen journalism a podcaster read...

Miles is the man. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jQnPJD9MobE&ab_channel=ConcepcionAyacucho This clip is from the movie "Dingo" about an Australian horn man playing in a dance band but he longs to be a jazz master playing with Miles. All the trumpet here is, of course, actually Miles....

Gig Law Returns in the Form of the Pro Act

If you never heard of California’s gig law that caused writers and freelancers to panic, you missed out on some great social commentary. Here’s a link to help understand the legislation: https://www.thecentersquare.com/national/survey-majority-of-freelance-writers-worry-pro-act-will-their-earning-po...

Re: Your favourite food and WHY?

My favorite is something I've not had since a child. My grandmother made a cake that had plums or something in it. I'm not too sure. It was cake on top and bottom with sugary plum type filling in the middle. Nobody knows what it was she made, but I've not had anything so good since the late 1970s.

Re: Deleted My Facebook Account

I refer to a bass violin. I have also been a drummer, was my original instrument, in fact. I still have a set of Yamahas but I play mostly double bass now. I'll do a guitar thing occasionally but I'm not comfortable on guitar. I get stage fright with guitar. I have to look at the floor. I play jazz...

Re: Deleted My Facebook Account

were you into the punk scene? I wasn't into the punk scene but was the metal and grunge scene of the early 1990s. I grew up in deep Southern Illinois. I learned to play drums in the 1980s on a CB 700 drum kit. By the time I entered high school, I drummed in metal/thrash bands. In high school, I san...
