Re: WANTED: Fiction Book Suggestions for our January, February & March Discussion
I've responded and made my choices known. I'll participate in any choice except science fiction or other specialty genres about which I know nothing. I like books related to history, crime, family etc.but not what I call the far out weirdo stuff.

Re: Creative Writing: My Lifeblood
TO: KoolDanny It's 9:30 AM on Sunday morning, December 29. As is my wont, I wandered around my computer checking email, sending a tweet or two, looking for inspiration. I happened into BookTalk.Org because I could not recall the words of my introductory message, thinking they might be of some use in...

Re: WANTED: Fiction Book Suggestions for our January, February & March Discussion
Chris, I simply assumed having indicated two choices that should one of them be selected it would be incumbent upon me to purchase, read and participate in the forum discussion. In the event some book other than one of those two already mentioned, I would reserve the option of considering the genre ...

Re: WANTED: Fiction Book Suggestions for our January, February & March Discussion
I am anxious and happy to increase my participation in the BookTalk Forums. I am a new member this year, have posted summaries of each of my six books on the site and would be honored and delighted were one of them selected for discussion on the Fiction Forum. Of the six books, I rate Goad of Honor ...

Re: WANTED: Fiction Book Suggestions for our January, February & March Discussion
I'm afraid Stranger in A Strange Land is out of my genre. The excerpts suggest the author has teriffic imagination, but I find other world characters outside mt area of interest.

A Christmas Story by Stephen P. Byers
Annette and I did crafts. We shared a lifetime, making do-dads for our home. We created for pleasure; a curious form of pleasure, uniting us in love. I, a decrepit old man, clumsy and inelegant, overflowed with love for her. I cooked her meals, cleaned her house and catered to her needs. Despite my ...

A Boy and His Horse: The Autobiography of Kade Zachary by Stephen P. Byers
A Boy and His Horse [/b] Of all my stories, this is the one closest to my heart, inspired by our daughter in a Christmas letter, 2009 reproduced on the back cover. Her gift was the painting on the front cover. No words by me beyond the foregoing could ever do justice to the enormous love I feel for...

Lost River Bridge by Stephen P. Byers
Lost River Bridge — The Complete Story includes Parts 1, 2, 3 & 4 [/b] A story of split personality, not of the dissociative Jekyll and Hyde sort, but rather of the real and the imaginary, told by one, written by the other. The storytelling world of Elijah Taber enhances the lifetime experience...

The Naked Jaybid by Stephen P. Byers
The Naked Jaybird [/b] This is a story about a foreign power’s attempt to secretly attack America through disruption of the environment. Would such a plan be feasible? Perhaps as the super powers acquire weapons of such devastating power as to annihilate one another, more subtle means of destructio...
