I started reading Ms. Rice when she came out with "Witching Hour" and then I read all of her books after until Violin"...I was tiring of the series I think...Not to discourage people that are only familiar with her vampire series...I thought at the time of printing that Witching Hour ...

I think a reader always has more unread books on hand than he needs to... much like an overstocked refrigerator...however, books never spoil....I can count on one hand how many books I have started and didn't finish...although as I get older and time becomes more precious I have to admit I have beco...

I agree Ophelia...but I believe it is in his style of writing that makes it so wonderful as opposed to the story content.

I have always found it interesting that some readers are only non-fiction-al while others are fiction-al. Me, I'm a fiction-al kind of gal when reading but I will listen to both...so does that make me auditorially non-partisan?

i really love the manner in which an author writes....

2 of my favorites are Caleb Carr...the Alienist...and Stephen L. Carter..New England White.(reading this now)..and his "Emperor of Ocean Park" ...as a first fictional book was quite good.
