Re: Feeling sleepy everytime I read...you?

I personally think its a program of the brain. At least for me anyway. Growing up I used to read mostly in bed at night and when ready for sleep I would turn the TV on to fall asleep to. Now as an adult I don't sleep as well unless the TV is on. Literally last night this happened. I fell asleep on t...

Re: What are your Xenophilias?

I love German. There is so much good and bad to their history (and the bad is so bad they can't hide it) I love the mixture. It shows that people are both and can't be labeled as one thing. I also adore European, more specifically English, because of the medieval background is so rich (and what litt...

Re: Looking for a certain kind of relationship book recommendation...

I really can't help but I am extremely intrigued as to what some of these rules are. Are they similar to our 1950's home standards? Maybe in putting it to paper (or text on a screen) you could almost write your own book for her?

Re: Should countries outlaw the hijab, niqab and burka?

There's a time for liberal-singing-kumbaya bullshit and there's a time for considering what is prudent in a given situation. If you're driving down a street in Detroit and the sidewalks are crowded with dozens of young black men sitting around congregating (I speak from experience because you WILL ...

Re: Should countries outlaw the hijab, niqab and burka?

Ditto. That is how we learn. I get no pleasure from winning a debate as then I only give the other one of the greatest pleasures of life. Learning something new. I debate to gain the pleasure of losing it and the giving a loss or pleasure of learning to the other is secondary to me. In that I show ...

Re: Should countries outlaw the hijab, niqab and burka?

So since we brought up banks... I actually work in one in Texas. We have a very strict policy on clothing but this is because it is a private building so we can make our own rules. Posted on the front doors and at every station there is a sign that says we request all hats, headwear, and sunglasses ...

Re: Should countries outlaw the hijab, niqab and burka?

I'm not on my desktop anymore so it's hard to read this but I apologize for saying you said certain things that you did not. I will fix that tomorrow on the computer. Despite my phone being too big for my hand it's still a lot to read on this screen. Understood. No need to fix anything though. Your...

Re: Should countries outlaw the hijab, niqab and burka?

It's more of a grossly bigoted comment than it is a "racist" one. But it's not surprising considering the source. I agree it's also bigotry but I say racist because you can't tell what a person is thinking, what their religion is, or anything personal when it's just men sitting on a plane...
