Re: Should countries outlaw the hijab, niqab and burka?

Chris, How is that without a basis? The basis is that people wearing full disguises cannot be identified and are therefore dangerous to society. They cannot be identified by security camera footage and eye witnesses. I didn’t realize that being distinguishable on security tapes was illegal. If the p...

Re: Should countries outlaw the hijab, niqab and burka?

Lemmie just jump right in here… DL, If we pass a woman wearing such garb on the street, we have no idea as to whether she is forced or not but should ere on the side of freeing women from oppression in order to insure that all share our freedom in our free lands. I know I catch major hell for wantin...

Re: About that poll over there

I'm gunna jump into this two months late (and without actually reading all the stuff between Brother Bob and Interbane cause after a few posts I felt it wasn't what I wanted to comment on so if I say anything for or against or similar I apologize) GalazyZento I find it very interesting that you have...

Re: Anne Rice

I have read and currently own most of the vampire chronicles. I actually went through a phase in jr high where I was obsessed with the series. I managed to convince my brother I was a vampire... I like her style of writing for the most part but as I got older I felt you could tell Rice was a girl by...

Re: WANTED: Book suggestions for our next FICTION book discussion!

I see I have missed quite a few discussions of very good books. As for the current discussions I have two very different books to suggest. One is a book I don't even know if I like it but it made my world turn and kept me thinking for a week. It's Handle with Care by Jodi Picoult. http://www.jodipic...

Re: Looking for a Good Series

What kind of series do you like? All of my suggestions would be fantasy and include dragons, war, magic, etc.

In America if you aren't religious you are looked at like some modern hippy that has no heart especially here in the south.

LanDroid that is a good idea. :)

Re: Needed Someone to Talk Books With

Thank you Chris! Penelope, that article was very intriguing. At first I didn't know if I agreed with it. In the sense that it didn't give off a good feel for atheists (we already have such a hard time battling the fact that most Christians perceive us as mean, unloving, close minded people) but as I...

Re: Needed Someone to Talk Books With

I took awhile to read the Hunger Games but when I did I read them quickly and enjoyed all three... That is until the last chapter, well the epilogue. I hate the ending. I personally feel like Collins just gave up and threw an ending together. A lot of people like it though. I haven't read the diverg...

Re: Needed Someone to Talk Books With

Hello! Good idea waiting for Narnia though I will say that they don't all involve the same story. Lewis actually wrote them out of order. The first one tells the story of the beginning of Narnia. Then it skips over to the four main kids in book 2. Book three can sit on its own since it doesn't reall...
