Chris stated:Quote:When we cannot find answers we create them - to quench that insatiable thirst for understanding.Exactly. The thing is, the motives behind creating these answers vary. Last fall a little boy here in my area fell from a 2 story window and landed on the concrete below. He required em...

Re: Why do people believe in gods?
I don't buy the idea of a god gene or that belief in god is inherent in humans, but I do think that belief in god goes much deeper than a mere emotional coping mechanism for existential dread. Humans have the unique ability to think abstractly. Our intelligence allows us to contemplate our existence...

To spank or not to spank?
Nope, sorry, this isn't a sex poll. My daughter is nearly 2 years old and I've watched her change from a perfectly sweet little pixie into the spawn of Satan. She used to give me hugs. Now she smacks me in the face, pulls my hair and bites. She used to do what I would tell her. Now she looks at me w...

Ah, I will gladly take back seat to you two if you want to lead the discussions. I intend to participate and may generate some conversation, but because of my limited posting and chat time you would probably be better to lead it. Cheryl

Re: Would anyone like to be the discussion leader for this b
I would like to.I've really been wanting to read this book and I think that there is plenty of room for discussion. I'm nearly through chapter 1. I may not be able to post daily, but I should be able to post at least a few times a week and generate some discussion. If that's good enough to be a disc...

Naturyl,I have to agree. Chris is definitely a quality person in my opinion. And he does practice what he preaches. He's not just brains. He's heart. He's a quality friend, the type that are rare to find in this world.Cheryl

Re: Have you ever smoked pot?
Nope. I've never tried it. I've never tried any recreational drug. I did get drunk once. That wasn't a pleasant experience. I'll never do that again.Cheryl

I selected housekeeper. I don't mind eating microwave dinners nearly as much as I mind scrubbing toilets and doing dishes. I have the perfect situation at the moment. I'm working full-time and my boyfriend is going to college. He does all the cleaning, cooking, and bookkeeping. He's doing my taxes f...

I'm still undecided and not registered either way, but my views favor the republican party over the democratic party.
