The Satanic Bible

This has been on my "to read" list for quite a while. Recently I decided to do a little research on Satanism and stumbled upon a pretty cool site that outlines its basic philosophy. To better understand this religion I've purchased a copy of The Satanic Bible by Anton LaVey and plan to rea...

Re: Official Poll - May/June 2003 Book of the Month

I voted for Richard Dawkin's book as well. I've read about 2/3 of The Blind Watchmaker and learned so much from that. I wouldn't mind reading another of his books. I think that we should wait until June to decide on the July/August book. Who knows what the atmosphere will be like 2 months from now. ...

Re: 1984

Cool. Let me know when you're ready to read it. I started reading it a little more yesterday, but I'm only in chapter 3. I'll wait for you guys to start it before I read anymore. I would love to be able to discuss it with people because it really has me freaked out.Cheryl

Re: Lets talk about our May & June book decision...

Chris,I'm not sure that a book on the Middle East is really what I want to read, but I think it would be a good subject to read and discuss. I would be in favor of a book on that subject. For some reason I just haven't been in much of a mood to read a lot lately so it's hard for me to come up with s...

1984

Since I left my religion I've had quite few people recommend that I read 1984 by George Orwell. They said that I would be amazed at the similarities between the totalitarian political system described in the book and my former religion. So I started reading it yesterday. The similarities are incredib...

The Catcher in the Rye

<t>Has anyone else read this? I just finished it. I decided that since I have such an aversion towards fiction and have read so little of it I should probably force myself to read at least a few of the classics. So I started with this one.<br/> <br/> Wow, I loved this book! I have never gotten so ab...

Re: NadiaAoC's Introduction

Thank you, Chris. I had a wonderful time with Andrea at Chuck E. Cheese today. She ate french fries. They are her favorite food in the world. Then I put her on the little rides and she loved them! I took so many pictures. She was so cute. She was fascinated with the other children. She's a very frie...
