This is by far, one of the most interesting and bizarre books I have ever read. Although long, and sometimes, difficult to understand and get through, I think it would be an unbelievable book to read for this forum. My vots is most certainly for House of Leaves.

I really loved The Crucible when I read it in High School. It's a quick read, although there is a lot of symbolism and you really have to look beyond the surface story to get at what Miller is trying to say. Even on the surface, though, it's a really entertaining story.

A Post American World

There may have already been a thread about this book, I know it is not a new book, I just had a question about it. I'm not a person who knows a lot about what's going on in the world today. I read the news, but there are just so many different angles to the world today. I heard that the book "A...

Right now, I'm reading "The Last Orcale" by James Rollins, but I'll be done with that in a couple of days. I will go on to "The Monster of Florence", a non-fiction book by Douglas Preston.

This is an interesting topic. I don't go after books for the protagonist, unless it is part of a series I enjoy. But, if picking up a new book, I don't really care if it is a male or female lead. However, many of the books I've read recently have a very strong female as one of the main adversaries. ...

Historical Fiction

This is, right now, my favorite genre of novel. While I love the classics (I've read everything Fitzgerald, Hemingway and Dos Passos ever published, as well as others), right now I'm looking for some brain numbing fun. There are many authors writing this type of fiction right now. I'm on break from ...

Question

Hello all.
I was wondering how you know which books will be upcoming for the book discussions. Is there a list somewhere with the dates that the discussions wil span?
Thanks in advance for any help!

I often wonder the same thing. I think that books that had some controversy around them, ie The DaVinci Code, or books that a lot of people read and were on the bestseller lists for a long time will become the classics of tomorrow.
