Re: Hello

You seem to have a boiling mind. I feel mine is always running 300 km/per hour and it would be so great to just find a place in the sun and to be able to write freely and with the amount of time needed. Im sure that after you finish that story, not only will you feel more light and free, you will a...

Re: Hello

Hi farmgirlshelley, it's nice to hear from you. I hope you get to visit England sometime in the not too distant future, it's a wonderful country. The USA is very special to me too though now, I've done a lot of traveling and exploring over the years in the US, and love the place I now call home. (In...

Re: Hello

Hi Mar, I'm only able to read 4-5 books per week as I'm a full time dad to my twin girls --- I recently converted their cribs to "grown-up" beds, and they frequently escape to play when they should be sleeping if I don't sit in the room keeping an eye on them. It's an ideal time to read my...

Re: Kindle or Nook?

"Also, my friend with a Kindle the other day told me he put a PDF on his unit and Amazon charged him $2.50...just to put his own PDF onto the Kindle." a) You can copy pdf's across to your Kindle just like a flash drive, and the Kindle supports pdf viewing natively. For free. (Personally I ...

Re: Language Pet Peeves

I was just on a football forum and saw another pet peeve that irritates me every time I see it -- which is an awful lot. A poster was talking about a football, (i.e soccer) striker and said, "He should of scored more", instead of "He should have scored more."

Re: Language Pet Peeves

It never fails to make me cringe internally when people say, "I could care less," when they mean that they couldn't care less.

Re: Kindle or Nook?

<t>I adore the Kindle but didn't really warm to the Nook, (or Barnes and Noble for that matter.) I've shopped with Amazon for many years, (200+ orders), and never once had a problem. With Barnes and Noble though I've had many problems --- the biggest issue that comes straight to mind was having to r...

Re: Do you decide in the first two pages if you like the book or not?

Started to read ''McCarthey's Bar''. The Irish were lovable, the English uptight, the Germans humourless and the Italians had Style. I couldn't read more than a chapter. Sounds like a wonderful character study, (yes, that was sarcasm) --- the author must have read "Stereotypes for Dummies" ...

Re: Do you decide in the first two pages if you like the book or not?

Just curious. :? When you pick up a new book, do you decide in the first two pages if you like the book or not? Also how long will you read a book that is not interesting you? No, I don't thankfully! I try to endure a slow start until the main meat of the story at least. For example, I would have g...

Hello

Hello all, I'm a mid-thirties Englishman from Yorkshire who relocated to Wyoming, USA a few years ago. I'm very happily married with 2 year old twin girls. I'm an avid reader, reading between two to five novels per week. I enjoy writing fiction too although this is a fairly recent discoery of mine t...
