Re: what is your favorite musical?

Ah, I like so many musicals such as Oliver!, Grease, Joseph and the Amazing Technicolour Dreamcoat (or dreamboat according to stiffanbond :P), Cats, The Sound of Music, The King and I, Billy Elliot, Evita, Phantom of the Opera, Annie, The Lion King, Mamma Mia!, Sister Act etc.

stiffanbond: It's June, how is it nearly Christmas?!

I'm listening to Womanizer by Britney Spears at the moment.
And oh lord, a High School Musical track just came on - why is it in my last.fm playlist?!
Anyway, now it's Wide Awake by The Twang.

Re: Shutter Island

farmgirlshelley: Haha yeah, you should. Theomanic: Yeah, it may be hard to read a book full of suspense having seen the film first. Also, I don't know that I'll necessarily like the book as I progress through it, but I think I prefer imagining the worlds rather than seeing them. Maybe because it mak...

Shutter Island

Just started reading 'Shutter Island' by Dennis Lehane. I'm only about ten pages in, but I'm enjoying it so far. It seems like it will be a really interesting read considering what it's about. Also, I'm aware that it's a film now - how I was recommended the book actually - but I don't intend in watc...

Re: Seen any good movies recently?

I saw 'Street Dance' (in 3D) a couple of days ago. I thought it was pretty good. The romance involved and the ending was predictable, but it was still a good film, with lots of great dancing and morals in a way. I read a few reviews of it mentioning that it was blurry - I guess it was at times but i...

Re: What you can learn and what you can't about creative writing

My favorite mode is first person, past tense. I agree. I've just finished my first year at university studying Creative Writing, and before I never really considered writing in second person, but when I was told to write a piece in the second person I was surprised how well it actually worked for m...

The Cross - Within Temptation because I'm listening to it non-stop...

Although, now I have songs from Cats in my head because of froglipz.

Re: Do you decide in the first two pages if you like the book or

I usually read the first couple of pages, sometimes the first chapter, to see if I like the book. If I'm not that interested in what's happening, it rather depends. Sometimes I think it'll get better so I keep reading, but other times I just can't see it going anywhere so I stop reading it. Also, it...

Hungry Eyes - Eric Carmen. It's from Dirty Dancing - great film.
Oh, and now Cosmic Dancer - T.Rex has come on. That's from Billy Elliot which is a great film too.
