Re: Best fantasy/supernatural books?
While I must admit that I have not read a lot in the genre, I love both the works of Edger Allen Poe as well as HP Lovecraft. I particularly love the Cthulhu Mythos that Lovecraft created. Ah, I've heard of them, but I haven't ever read them Poe can be a little challenging when first approached. Hi...

Re: Tower of Babel - What was going on there?
On here, we get to know one another because we all speak the same language, and thus, (behold!) we can communicate. In the Biblical story of the Tower of Babel....God is portrayed as making them all speak in different tongues, so that they couldn't communicate......they believed themselves to be se...

Re: Italian literature
That's a great work(: Of course, there are so many poems to read, and I can't keep all them in my mind at the moment, but if you want to know something about them, you can. Re: Thomas Pynchon Gravity's Rainbow
This is a great book and well worth the effort. It is a challenging read, however. I will make a recommendation. Re: Italian literature

I took four years of Italian in High School but sadly I have lost most of it. Therefore I have only read the English translation. Still, it seems to me to be an amazing work.
It is so influential on our modern culture and thinking.

Re: Favorite character in literature?
I have racked my brain to come up with a favorite! I must conclude that I cannot pick one. However, for no reason that I can discern, the character that I am most intrigued with at this moment, is Meursault from The Stranger. He is so cold and detached, yet in a strange way I will go out on a limb a...

You will be pressured by your family to change you mind; If you continue as a Christian they will disown you and may have a funeral for you; If employed you will lose your job; If not employed you will not be able to find a job; You will be hunted, persecuted, jailed, beaten and possibly be torture...
