Re: Ch. 1 - The Mystery of Being

When the book states that philosophy is dead, they meant that the various systems of beliefs about the nature of reality do not encapsulate the scientifically proven reality that quantum mechanics is. (Though in the 1930's attempts were made to develop philosophies around quantum mechanics such as t...

Re: Ch. 1 - The Mystery of Being

Re: Ch. 1 - The Mystery of Being

Here's a recent video of Brian Greene discussing some of the ideas behind extra dimensions beyond the 4 of space-time. (This is a Richard Dawkins production.)

I better be participating. :)

I'm holding back reading more chapters so I can read along with others here.

BTW: The book is currently #5 on the New York Times Bestsellers List for Hardcover Nonfiction.

Re: EMP and Solar Flares in the News-Right out of THE GREAT COLLAPSE

After I learned about nuclear EMP attacks , I got really paranoid and eventually after a few years bought a lot of survival gear and a book " When All Hell Breaks Loose " after Obama took office. http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en/c/cd/EMP_areas.JPG A massive Solar Flare would also b...

Re: Best Stephen King and Dean Koontz Books

I read many of Dean Koontz books back in the early 90's.

One of my favorites that I can remember is Night Chills.

I also read most of Stephen King's books published before "It". Salem's Lot, Carrie, and The Stand were my favorites.
