*SUPER SPOILER ALERT* The Fountain interpretation
I watched "The Fountain" last night, and now I'm trying to come to terms with what it actually means. Has anybody else seen this movie? What do you guys think about it? Check out the trailer: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dAuxryJ6pv8 I strongly urge anyone who hasn't seen the movie NOT to...

How does it feel when you read?
Hey guys, after having thought a little about what I classify as fun, thanks to this thread .. I started thinking about why I find reading so enjoyable. I'd never thought of it as "fun" before, because I associate that word to something else entirely. But I undeniably find reading relaxing...

VMLM: You're in Peru!!!! How amazing!! Is that inscription in Portugese? I know you say Spanish is your mother tongue, but it doesn't look like Spanish to me.... Nope, that's definitely Spanish, Penelope. I don't actually speak Portuguese :-). Peru is a great place to visit, I encourage anybody wit...

Re: How you guys track your reading?
My rule of thumb, if I read it, it goes. If I read it and loved it, it stays. Paradoxically, I tend to follow the exact opposite rule of thumb... If I read it, it stays. If I read it and love it, it goes. The reason for this is that if I've really enjoyed a book, I can't help but recommend it to ot...

Re: What do you do for fun?
Golfing is great! My dad loves golf, and because of that I've played a few times. Anytime he's in town, we usually go out and have a round of golf. I invariably lose these games because I suck at golf (I can't really complain, since I never really practice). It's still fun though. As a sport, it's v...

Re: How you guys track your reading?
As for bookmarks, I usually just use whatever the library is handing out at the moment. I have a drawer full of tickets. Bus tickets, movie tickets, theater tickets, old lottery tickets, and other assorted receipts and papers with no other use. ...And I've been known to use old personal memorabilia...

Re: The Hunger Games - Suzanne Collins
The Giver is an awesome book. I can't really remember it very well right now, I read it a long time ago... but I remember the contrast between the highly limiting black and white world and the full color liberating, human experiences the Giver.. gives the main character. How that extended and "...

Re: How you guys track your reading?
I know I'm probably in the minority here, but I gotta say I love e-books and pdfs. I'm something of a book hoarder.. I've got loads of books I should probably sell, but I just can't bring myself to get rid off, despite the fact that the clutter is reaching mythical levels, a lot of my books are fall...

Re: What do you do for fun?
Ummm, does it make sense if I say I have different kinds of fun ? I love reading, obviously. I don't know what the experience of reading a book is for anybody else, I'm actually interested in what other members here might have to say about that, but for me it's very... expanding? engrossing? When I'...

Re: A Song of Ice and Fire Series
I know I'm not exactly the most constant of members, but I would totally be on board for a discussion of game of thrones. I'm anticipating the next book coming out some time in 2015 (hopefully), so I could use a refresher.
