Re: Kindle or Nook?
Hang in there Jozanny! Your belief in direct relationship with your audience is the way to go. According to a study done by Bowker, the least effective way to get people to buy your books is through a blog or author website, though it's a growing area, it's still very small in the market share. Most...

Re: Kindle or Nook?
I have just ordered my Kindle and am anxiously awaiting its arrival. But as an author, I must say...publishing on Amazon for Kindle only takes a few minutes but for Nook I go through a distributor, and that takes several weeks. My latest, Silent Russian, is already available for Kindle users to down...

Re: Shiny, Green and Newly Published Digitally.
No problem. Play up the fact that you're a local author and willing to help with their kid's programs and you'll do great. Then you can branch out & sell to other libraries that are not local by including your successes with the local guys. It'll hopefully have a snowball effect for you. Good lu...

Re: Shiny, Green and Newly Published Digitally.
I wish I had more suggestions. I've been trying to get into schools, even offering to contribute part of the proceeds from sales to the parents, to the school, but no such luck. There's a book out called "The New Rules of Marketing & PR", which I've been reading that has a lot of good ...

Re: Shiny, Green and Newly Published Digitally.
Welcome to Book Talk! I have a children's story/activity book called Einstein the Destroyer. The story is fun (about a dog named Einstein) and the illustrations & activities are fantastic. I'm on Amazon and I started my own publishing company to get my works to print much faster than other metho...

Re: The Accidental Farmers
Would it be interesting to someone who doesn't know very much about farming? I'm always looking for something interesting.

Re: Currently reading?
I just started reading 'The Store' by Bentley Little. I read one other by him called 'The Walking'...one of the most bizarre books ever. I was looking for a little horror/thriller to get in the groove for my next novel, The Ghost of Retirement. My first novel, Wiretap, is a mystery. The second, due ...

Re: Books and Coffee
I read to help fall asleep at night so I really don't drink anything. When I'm lucky enough to get to read during the day, in the summer I absolutely love Southern Ice Tea.

Re: Hello :)
Hi Luna! Thank you for the note. It's nice to meet you too :-). It would be great if you could ask your library to purchase Wiretap. That's an area I've been working on recently, and it has been quite a challenge even getting local libraries to show an interest. But it's all a learning experience an...
