There are certain genres I don't like. Period. If I like the blurb, or read a good review, I'll download a sample. I've read lots of samples this past year. If an author can't get my interest in the first twenty or so pages, I won't even spend the two bucks.

I have an agent who has worked her butt off for me even though she hasn't been able to sell my books - which is why I self-published. I found her on the internet of course. I was very specific about who I sent my letters to - I only targeted agents who represented my genre, were accepting new autors...

I'm always reading something. Right now I'm reading two things. I've got a basket full of library books, so those get first priority. Lately I've given up on books that don't grab me in the first 50 or so pages. Life's too short to read bad books, so about half of what I start get thrown aside.
