Re: Path Integrals, Sum-over-Histories, and the Law of Non-Contradiction
Well, Robert, you have stated relatively accurately the position which I am going to call into question. When I have done so, it goes without saying that you are free to review my arguments, and either accept them or reject them as you see fit. While I am formulating my next installment, perhaps as ...

Re: Disaffected Amazon Poster
BTW, this record has garnered a reputation in certain circles as being overly pretentious. One reviewer asked and answered his own rhetorical question, thusly: "Is it possible for a band to be nerdier than Rush, the Buggles, Devo and Jethro Tull combined? Artificial Intelligence proves that the...

Path Integrals, Sum-over-Histories, and the Law of Non-Contradiction
>>> Introduction Lately, I have found myself in contentious discussions--generally with theists of one stripe or another--about what the fundamental laws of the universe actually are. It is pretty much unanimously held that there are fundamental laws of Aristotlean logic which are taken to be applie...

Re: What is your relationship with music?
I hate the 12 tone scale, or at least I think I do. Let me say that what you hate is the twelve tone ROW, not the scale. Virtually all western music uses the same twelve tone scale as Schoenberg used, including your favorites, Rimsky-Korsakov and Stravinsky... Also, Stravinsky played around with 12...

Re: Richard Dawkins and Alister McGrath
If you like acrostics and hidden messages, perhaps you'd enjoy "Gӧdel, Escher, Bach: an Eternal Golden Braid". It won a Pulitzer, so I guess that would qualify it as a quality book.

Good, because if you were, you'd be failing at it.2) I am not interested in convincing you of anything.
But what exactly are you trying to do? Demonstrate the rampant illogic of your stance?

Re: The Case for God
And I take it that all Christians are above all the rest? All Christians are saints, one is not above another.
Presumably it's only the golden, saintly, Christian prayers that get answered, right?

Re: Richard Dawkins and Alister McGrath
stahrwe, The more you talk, the more I lump you in with people who make no sense, your self-proclaimed saintliness notwithstanding. You are welcome to your delusions, but if you expect others to jump onto the "crazy" bandwagon, you are going to need some more convincing presentation skills...

Re: The Case for God
It is God who has chosen not to have a relationship with me! Your "answer" isn't useful to me. In fact, it simply muddies the waters. And anyway, according to my cousin, He gives me the same answers he gives her, regardless. At risk of making things even murkier, I ask again: What makes t...

Re: Richard Dawkins and Alister McGrath
<t>stahrwe,

You missed McGraph's & Dawkins' discussion on this matter, apparently. Dawkins' wanted to understand why and on what basis that God would intervene in some cases, but not others. Why would God play favorites, in other words?

Everyone except you apparently has no...
