Re: Why Machines Will Never Beat the Human Mind
I sure wish MY machines had more judgment than they currently display! If I ever have anything to say about it, I will lobby for the inclusion such capacities. I hope beyond hope that these judgments will be of the good kind. Time will tell.

Re: Can anyone elucidate on this please? Schrödinger
BTW, do you think these files helped to make my point any clearer? Or do I need to refine my presentation, still?

Re: Whats the difference? Mainstream vs. Creationists
But the real question is, Does Jesus have a personal relationship with them? I'm not much of a believer, so I'll leave it at that. Except to say that my understanding is that a "creationist" is one who believes in special creation, and presumably doesn't accept the theory of evolution on a...

Re: Disaffected Amazon Poster
Well, it isn't very smooth, but it did work, sort of. However, these issues remain: 1. If I attempt to edit the post, it bounces me out of BT (Logs me out!) Hence, I cannot fix anything about the post. 2. The file icons have very big 'video' windows on them, which are irrelevant, and take up a lot o...

Re: Why Machines Will Never Beat the Human Mind
"Never" is a long time... Beat which human mind? At what task? As soon as you specify the problem at issue, I think you only have to wait a few years before you either have to re-specify the problem more narrowly, or accept defeat. Thus, what counts as "intelligence" is an ever-s...

Re: The Case for God
It is God who has chosen not to have a relationship with me! Your "answer" isn't useful to me. In fact, it simply muddies the waters. And anyway, according to my cousin, He gives me the same answers he gives her, regardless. At risk of making things even murkier, I ask again: What makes th...

Re: The Case for God
For instance, are the prayers of saints more worthy, more listenable, than your average prayer? Are they the "gold standard" of prayer? What makes one prayer more golden than another, and what makes it answerable? (In the affirmative, that is... The other answers aren't really germane, I'...

Re: Richard Dawkins and Alister McGrath
I understand your desire to marginalize me by I am not offended by the term fundie, nor does it intimidate me when you suggest I would use the Bible though it this case it was not part of my plan. I have to say, stahrwe, your responses seem strangely disconnected from the posts you are quoting. Is ...

Re: Seeing both sides
Did I say he was a creationist? I certainly don't have that impression. In my view, a "creationist" is someone who supports "special creation" of the species, as opposed to darwinian evolution.
