Re: Catching Fire By Suzanne Collins
I read the first book but havent ever gotten round to the second or third... Is catching fire better than The hunger games? I thought hunger games was well written but seemed to lack something, the characters didnt really have any emotional depth...if there improvement in the next two books i might ...

I would love to work in a library though I'm not sure how much work I would actually get done!

Re: Reading for pleasure! What are you reading now?
I'm currently reading "Games of Thrones" and have to say I like it. A little bit confusing at the begging with the introduction of so many characters, after first fifty pages it is impossible to put it down. Just wandering what the tv series is all about.... is it as good as the book (the...

Re: What's the use of stories that aren't even true?
Escapism for me... I love to just relax and 'get into' a book- shut the world out. I do tend to read more fantasy books than anything so when I read I'm escaping into a different world, filled with everything opposite the world we live in- magic, dragons and monsters. ![Smile :)](./images/smilies/icon_smile.gif)

Re: The Dialectic of Care and Kill in Of Mice and Men
I think one of Steinbeck's main points was all men prey on the weak, even the weak. Take Crooks. He criticizes Lennie’s dream of the farm and how much he depends on George, after he has admitted his own vulnerabilities—he is a black man with a crooked back who longs for companionship—Crooks zeroes i...

Re: The Dialectic of Care and Kill in Of Mice and Men
I disagree about centring the story around Candy's dog's death. The dogs death played an important part in the story, mainly to foreshadow what would happen to Lennie. Due to his mild mental disability, Lennie completely depends upon George, his friend and traveling companion, for guidance and prote...
