Aqueda_Veronica.....I see you are a Poe fan. I just read a very good short story by Russell Banks re. Poe. It is called The Caul and is in Banks' collection of short stories called, The Angel on the Roof. Thanks so much for the awesome tip Lindad_Amato :) Just found the story online and read it in ...

"The haunting of Hill House" by Shirley Jackson. Not as awesome as Poe's "The fall of house of Usher" but I gave it a shot ![Smile :)](https://www.booktalk.org/images/smilies/icon_smile.gif)

Re: Suggestions needed for November/December fiction discussion
To be honest, if my proposition does no go through I would opt for Isabell Allende too! The reason for that is because I already got a copy of the novel from my library :) Please keep in mind guys that some of us don't live in the US so if you choose a title that has just been published, you automat...

Re: Do you like Horror movies?
Do I like horrors? LOVE them :) Since I grew up watching "Are you afraid of the dark", "Goosebumps" and stuff like that, it's only natural I guess. At the moment I'm reading "The haunting of the Hill House" and am looking forward to comparing this to this movie: http://...

Re: What is your favorite fiction genre?
My vote went for other, mainly because there are so many sub-genres I know what you mean, same here! I would usually go for psychological thrillers and a specific type of dramatic historic romans sagas. Also, I can never ignore a good oldfashioned classic... I just hope I won't go blind before reti...

Re: your favorite children's books...
My childhood book was a collection of ancient Greek myths. I knew it by heart at the age of 8 and it was the first book I've ever fallen asleep reading :) I also had another anthology of legends from around the world I simply loved. Recently I've rediscovered all the books that have something to do ...

My dear friends, I would like to cordially invite you to the world of Polish literature . To get us started I though I'd bring the short stories by Bruno Schulz to the table. I wish to nominate "Sanatorium Under the Sign of the Hourglass" or "The Street of Crocodiles" . Schulz is...

Re: Worst Books You've Ever Read
I have a rule: I give any novel at least 100 pages before I quit, no matter how painful it is. [/b] On one hand I do understand your point Avid Reader. It is only fair that we give some kind of a chance to any book. On other hand, don't you believe that your reading time is too precious to waste it...
