Ridley gets carried away sometimes. Its a very weak element in his argument. There are just too many variables involved. You are more likely to be a step-child if you are from a certain background because in the 'lower' socio-economic groups, divorce, pre-marital child birth etc. are more common occu...

Hmmmmm
I may be missing something here but I don't see how the fact that 'a lot of unions in nature--human and not--don't yield progeny' impacts on how natural something is.By my definition, to behave naturally is to behave according to one's design. We are 'designed' (thats shorthand) to have sex for a re...

Re: Why indeed once again
We are here because we disobeyed God's first command. We were no longer able to stay in the Garden. As for how to interpret the Bible correctly, well that is a question I could not answer without bias. I could tell you how to interpret most parts of the bible but I would be giving you the Catholic vi...

Genesis
Yup, I know thats what it sounds like. But really, what were you expecting? I can speculate as to his motives, but I can't really expect to be able to answer the question anymore than a toddler can expect to understand why they are getting a shot. That is the bottom line. However, it is my belief, an...

Re: Genesis
Why, Why Why. You are asking us to speculate on the reasons why a being of unlimited intellect did something. But look at it this way, we tell kids every day that the sun rises in the east and goes down in the west. It isn't true though. Why do we do it? Are we liars? Is it a myth?As for 2 accounts ...

Well for the most part I'm a console kind of guy. Zelda, Shenmue, Halo, SplinterCell, Soul Caliber, that kind of thing. But you just got to love PC rpgs, baldur's gate and the like and then you can only ever play 1st person shooters properly on a pc (halo being the exception that proves the rule). T...
