Re: lolita dresses

Maybe for mucking about, but we bring out the polar bear fur and seal skin when we want to look classy.

Re: lolita dresses

When I was a little kid I thought the way people dressed up for the prom or what have you was the same as the clothes that Sleeping Beautiful wore.. with the big skirts, decorated tops, and those long sleeves that go down and cover the hand. I don't know if I'm happy or sad that that is not the case...

Re: lolita dresses

I can't remember ever seeing a guy who looked like he spent two hours on his appearance. Usually "a lot of effort" from a guy is putting on a suit (less than five minutes), a tie (which he will complain about all night cuz it's "strangling" him), and combing his hair. Maybe 15 mi...

Re: lolita dresses

Fitting in to any subculture is always hard on the pocketbook. Also, chee, time consuming. I don't even blow dry my hair cuz...

Well, even if you get it after the discussion officially "closes" we'll still be around to talk about it. At least I will! :D

Re: Ch. 1 - Six fingers and four breasts

It should start with Toru making some spaghetti and then receiving a phone call.

Looking forward to hearing your impressions of the novel!

Re: Graphic Novels, Trade Paperbacks, and Comic Books

I'm pretty sure I read Y, and I read some of the Walking Dead (my boyfriend has a bunch of those comics). I never really wanted to read Maus - I worked in a university bookstore and we sold a billion of those. I've read that Batman series, also. A lot of your recommendations are movies. Did you find...

Re: Graphic Novels, Trade Paperbacks, and Comic Books

I like a lot of comics and graphic novels, though these days I don't know anyone else who does so I haven't really kept up on things. If you have any must-read recommendations, please let me know! I also tend to the DC side of the Marvel/DC spectrum. I really like Batman, but I tend to just read ran...
