Ahhh... I was joking about Xombies! Sorry, my bad.

Re: Fiction selections needed for Sep./Oct. discussion
Flatland seems like it might be neat. Even if it isn't, it's short at least. Though that makes me wonder how much there is to talk about in it... The Good Man Jesus and the Scoundrel Christ seems sort of similar in theme to Good Omens . I'm certain they're fairly different, but two books that allud...

Re: LIGHTNING!
That's pretty crazy... I had no idea how many little flickers and flashes occur while it builds up the big visible strike. I wish there was something else moving (like a person walking) so one could really understand how slow 300x is.

What? No votes for Xombies? The Tin Drum it is then! ![Very Happy :D](https://www.booktalk.org/images/smilies/icon_biggrin.gif)
NY152 - I think we were, for the most part, joking.

Sounds like we need to do amazon.com/Xombies-Walter-Greatshell/dp ... amp;sr=8-3.
Xombies by Walter Greatshell
"Spreading at an astonishing speed, the "Agent X" virus transforms everyone it touches into maniacal monsters."
The best part is it's the beginning of a series!

Re: Fiction selections needed for Sep./Oct. discussion
I'd be very interested to read and discuss The Tin Drum - in fact I already own it. I'd also be willing to do Fahrenheit 451 , but since there is already a thread I don't know that there is a point. Read and Will Not Read Again: Pride and Prejudice (boring) Grapes of Wrath (I don't like Steinbeck) E...

Re: Thus Spake Zarathustra
Could you give some examples of self-control bringing power? I can think of some but they're pretty thin so I don't suppose I am thinking of the right parts. Picture this: a camel goes into the desert of current thought, transforms into a lion and rules his own domain of authentic, creative truth. ...

Re: I just saw inception. Let the hyperbole begin!
Wow, just got back - it was pretty great. The directing seemed extremely excellent, though I'm not usually one that's good at pegging such things. I can see how it was a bit confusing. Sometimes I would mentally pause and think "Okay, where precisely are they now?". I also loved Joseph Gor...

Though apparently that one act of kindness put him in the asylum. I guess he wasn't a man meant for caring. ![Very Happy :D](https://www.booktalk.org/images/smilies/icon_biggrin.gif)

I *am* going to watch it today (we tried yesterday but it was sold out). I'll let you know what I think - I'm pretty excited!
