In my opinion:
“Stick and Rudder” by Wolfgang Langewiesche
“Faith is the Hunter” by Ernest Gann
“Aviation Tales & Tails” by Joey Uliana
“A Gift of Wings” by Richard Bach
Interested to hear your list, and your take on the four that I’ve mentioned.

"A Gift of Wings" and "Biplane" by Richard Bach are both great.

Definitely! Now that you mentioned “Biplane,” I also remembered that “Nothing by Chance” (from the same author) is excellent too.

Are you a pilot or just an aviation enthusiast like me?

I am actually an editor and avid aviation enthusiast. I have just helped a pilot friend to publish his book about aviation stories throughout his career.

Feel free to post about the book in our "Authors: Tell us about your non-fiction book" forum. This thread will be moved to one of the non-fiction forums soon as this is the BookTalk.org News forum.

Oh, thank you. I have just posted a short message there. I am still learning to navigate through this website, and want to make sure I stick to its policies. So far, I’ve enjoyed it and will get more folks to join.

You did nothing wrong. We just finished a massive upgrade of the site and now everything looks completely different. My next step is to revise forum names and descriptions and rules so that everything becomes easier to understand.

Wind, Sand and Stars by Antoine de Saint-Exupery is one of the most famous aviation books. The author must have been something else - he also wrote The Little Prince, a fable / child's book...
