Why should any day be bad? Isn't it a matter of attitude? Isn't it whether or not you choose to see the glass half full or half empty? So if the level is on the half way line and you are not sure, fill it a little and think of somethng pleasant.

Re: What made today bad
Penny, you're our Brit! Please don't say goodbye permanently. Just take a break and please come back when you feel like you have something to say again. Seriously, I always enjoy your perspective.Penelope wrote:It has been worrying me that I felt somewhat dried up and out of things to say.....well, 'appropriate' things to say, that is.Chris wrote:
Why the departure, Penny?
I always found it hard speaking to people and not being able to see their facial expressions/tone of voice to guage their moods.
When it starts to worry one, the joy goes out of communication and so I feel it is time to go. I have so much loved the discussions Chris, as you know. I am no good at polite conversation and always tend to want to stir things up.......something of a subversive I think.
Having thought long and hard over Christmas and New Year, I didn't want to leave without saying goodbye as it seemed really rude and ungrateful, and lo and behold, Olivia started 'What made Today Bad'. Just the right thread.
So, a heartfelt thank you and big hugs all round.
I take breaks from here all the time. No one ever notices.

Oh, thank you - I'll take a break then and see whether my 'opinions' come back to me.
Kelstan, my condolences. Every day they are coming up with better treatments for this awful affliction.
