Hi all,
My name is Adrian, but friends call me Ade. I am 57 years of age, married with 3 daughters aged 27, 19 and 17. I have been married for 22 years to my wife Sue who is the mother of my 2 youngest daughters. The eldest lives with her partner in Parson's Green, west London. The middle daughter is living in East London where she is studying English literature at Queen Mary's University. The youngest is studying A levels and wants to study Psychology at University.
I retired from my job as office supplies sales manager for Mannesmann Tally UK with responsibility for Europe, Scandinavia, South Africa and China in 2009 and spend most of my time reading. I also enjoy taking part in pub quizzes, photography and watching rugby (I played and coached for 19 years until health and injury forced me to retire), I also enjoy country walks and narrowboat holidays on Britain's canal network and rivers.
My favourite genre for reading is historical fiction, especially medieval 'who dunnits' as written by the likes of Mel Starr author of 'The chronicles of Hugh De Singleton, surgeon' series and just about anything by Bernard Cornwall.
Other favourite authors include Terry Pratchett, Rob Hamilton, George R R Martin, Colin Dexter and Kathy Reichs. I also enjoy distopian novels, Aldus Huxley's 'A brave new world' being one of my favourites.
I also read autobiographies.
I am currently reading 'Uprising' the fall of Haven' by Justin Kempainnen and have "dozens" of unread books on my many book shelves.

Re: new boy from Abingdon, Oxfordshire
"the abingdon chasp" is track seven from Bill Brufords album "one of a kind"
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/One_of_a_Kind_%28album%29
the album features "Jeff Berlin" an astounding bass player, and one "Alan Holdsworth" , his name says it all.
since i was very young this album has been in my psyche so much that i have kind of absorbed it into my souls dna so to speak.

Hi, from the little I've heard it sounds good and will need further investigation.
What are you reading at present? I'm half way through 'uprising (the fall of haven)' by Justin Kemppainen. It's a dystopian novel and a very good read.
Ade.
