I'm a long time scriptwriter, having worked in games, media, radio, tv, and film before -but first time author. I have recently taken the plunge adapted my work into manuscript form and published my first novella / short book on Amazon Kindle, through my own publishing company Imagine Motion Pictures Ltd.
The book is a gothic fantasy set in Victorian Liverpool and tells the tale of the infamous ghost story of William McKenzie (based on the actual urban legend). Old Bill McKenzie wagered with the devil in life, and in death cheated him from possessing his soul. Yet his is a Pyrrhic victory; damned for eternity as a restless spectre, he wanders the streets of Liverpool singing a bitter song of justice and revenge.
The Ballad of Bill McKenzie is the prologue to the Magic Mattress series of dark fantasy adventure books - stories that exist in our recognizable mundane world based on real characters, history, places and events; only challenged by practical magic, witches, ghosts, bed monsters and primordial supernatural forces which are also very real, and have always been present (if only you knew where and how to look).
