So tonight "the People's Pope" scored again as an enormously popular leader.
Pope Francis continues to shine publicly as he moves The Church forward into the future.
I'd say people view him as a very charismatic leader.
What is the atheist answer to Pope Francis?
Or are atheists simply too busy fighting world hunger, abject poverty, and other social ills?
Are they simply satisfied with wagging their finger at religious people?
Are they simply satisfied with organizing "reason rallies" that call on rational disblievers to mock and ridicule believers?
What good is atheism to society if it has no way to connect emotionally with other human beings?
Or does the word "Humanism" cover all that without actually connecting with anyone in particular?
Atheism simply means lack of belief in a diety and disdain for those that do.
Of what practical use is that? What purpose does that serve except to get all the disdain off your chest?
I cant wait for atheists to psychoanalysize everyone else except themselves on this one.

disdain is not the best word thereant wrote:Atheism simply means lack of belief in a deity and disdain for those that do.
i mean an adult doesn't feel disdain for a child that believes in santa claus, it might even seem cute, but when the child refuses to grow up and begins to insist that santa is real at their 21st, well again disdain might not be the best word.

Re: The Pope and the People - ABC virtual audience
I watched this ABC’s presentation of a virtual audience with Pope Francis. What a wonderful idea it was to use modern day technology to allow individuals who would never have an opportunity to meet with the pope have such a visit. Also, it gave this humble man of wisdom the chance to give hope and advice to not only the person he was addressing but to all of us.

It's nice to see that the church is trying to access more people, with the help of technology. Many people have financial and personal problems that affects they're life's everyday. Maybe this will be the start of a more interactive church, that wants to be more engaged with the problems that affects everyone of us.
