This year's election: The lesser of three evils.

Unread post

Now before I start this, i want to let you know that I am too young to vote this year. But that does not limit my opinions on the two candidates left, Donald J. Trump And Hillary Clinton. Please enjoy a deviation from my normal posts.

When I first got interested in this years election, I heard things about Donald Trump that were outright wrong. I really only knew the names of a couple of the candidates, so I was very impartial when it came to who I supported. I really got interested when it came down to Bernie Sanders, Hillary Clinton and Donald Trump. What interested me was the controversy surrounding the candidates. And after learning about what they stood for, I became fond of Donald Trump. And I want to express my opinions about the candidates.

To start, Hillary Clinton is a compulsive liar, and a borderline sociopath. She also has the media rigged in her favor, and she wasn't charged for the emails she deleted. And Bernie Sanders was determined to help America, but he didn't have the most reasonable ideas. Also he was a Socialist, which is an economy type that i don't agree with at all. And Finally, Donald Trump. He has some good ideas and is often wrongly criticized, and he doesn't care about being politically correct. But like every other candidate he has his flaws, he doesn't know a lot about politics but he does know a lot about the economy.

Thank you for reading my opinion on the candidates for the 2016 election.

I agree with what you are saying. From the very beginning for me it had always been Trump. He was constantly a bad person to everybody but what caught me from the begging was his disinterest in trying to hide that fact. Compare to the other candidates who lied and must likely resembled something they are not and will not be. Trump at that moment was just saying who he was in reality. At least we know what we are getting if and only if he wins this years elections.

Trump is like your 86-year-old grandfather who says whatever pops into his mind. So, true, he's honest in that way. He's not encumbered by social niceties, nor does he seem to much care what people think of him.

Unfortunately, if you fact-check Trump's many assertions and innuendos you'll find out that quite a lot of what he says are a mish mash of half truths and outright lies. Trump resonates with people on an emotional level, but would that translate into an effective president? Build a wall and make Mexico pay for it sounds good in all of its bluster and braggadocio, but it won't really happen. Trump is the guy who asserts that Obama isn't a naturalized citizen and still won't back off that claim despite evidence to the contrary.

So really we don't know what we're getting. It's one thing to see Trump on a reality TV show, but quite another to put the man in charge of our country.

First, I want to thank The Awkward Bontanist and Mishycast, not for supporting Donald Trump, but for caring enough to at least get involved. As 70 something grandfather myself, all of us "just say whatver pops into our heads." I would admonish both of you however, to continue your involvement in politics and governemtn, and don't stop with the president. Your state sends two senators and one or more representatives to Washington. You also elect a governor, state legislators, mayors, city councilmen (and women), and other state and local officials. Do not overlook these individuals; many of them will have more impact on your daily lives than the president. Again, thanks for your involvement.

I'm sorry for my tacky comment. Actually I see it as a positive quality to say what's on your mind without worrying about offending someone or saying the wrong thing. I wish I could be more like that. But an aspiring president does need to be very careful what he/she says. Words can have tremendous consequences in our political arena. To some extent a politician needs to exude certain qualities that appeal to a large segment of the population, even if it means to be a little insincere. I think it goes with the territory.

I apologize again for my remarks if they came across jerkish. And I agree with Cattleman, thanks for your involvement.

No offense taken, geo, I was just trying to keep things light. I agree with your statement about candidates being careful about their remarks. So long as we can be civil, differences of opinion are not only to be tolerated, but cherished.

The Libertarian Candidate. I can't stand Hillary and don't think Trump has the chops to run the country.

This election cycle has little to do with the lesser of evils. It is entirely about from whom do we have more to fear. How deep and long lasting will the damage last.

Trump lies so often that you can't possibly know who he is. You can't actually know what he stands for, except you can feel pretty confident that he's an authoritarian.

this is more than the lesser of two evils. Or however many.

This is a choice between "maybe not who I really want, but at least stable" and "the worst idea in the last 70 years."

Trump is not just a bad candidate. He is an abysmal, ludicrously hollow, shell game of a Ronald McDonald. If this were just a vote between soulless corporate mascots, Trump Vs. Colonel Sanders Vs. Ronald McDonald.... all the other name brand, sell-you-garbage people listed would have a more concise and steady view of the world. They at least would have a team of corporate writers trying to get them to adhere close to reality.

Either one of them, Colonel Sanders or Ronald McDonald would try to make their greasy slop companies money. By replacing school cafeterias with restaurants maybe. But I AM CONFIDEDNT, either one of THOSE fictional persons would make every effort to not ruin our country's relations with our neighbors. Ronald McDonald, while pushing McNuggets on the world would definitely NOT say that nukes are on the table while dealing with mexico. Colonel Sanders would put an extra-crispy dispenser in every government building, but would definitely NOT try to build a pie in the sky, totally in-effective, completely racist border wall. There are a hundred men in suits who would be too concerned for the image of their company to let their corporate mascot do anything as stupid as get into a twitter hissy-fit with women and argue whether they were too fat.

Donald Trump, the face of "buy all my name brand TRUMP garbage" has already spent millions of campaign dollars in kick backs to his companies. He has ALREADY used his leverage to trade what power he's got into dollars for himself. on top of that? This particular hollow mascot, identical in every way to a Hamburgler, or Noid, has aggravated our neighbors, endorsed violence at his speeches, shouted acclaim for foreign antagonists, invited their intervention in our elections, racistly called whole swaths of our societies rapists, admitted to bilking our country out of millions of dollars in tax revenue, he's been revealed to be a fraud with his university which was nothing but a money stealing scam, and espoused criminally idiotic stances on foreign affairs that SHOULD have him laughed out of the room in any serious meeting of the minds.

what in hell!?

What would ever make anyone consider this stooge as a presidential candidate? I honestly do not understand.
