I should have more accurately said "the national Republicans"--House and Senate. With governors and mayors, republicanism often makes much less difference. Your Larry Hogan has received a good deal of praise for independence. Almost the only exception among Congress members is Mitt Romney. Without ever becoming a liberal, he's shown the rest of his party what principle is. I respect him. When he marched in a BLM protest I thought, there's a guy who acts on principle and isn't afraid of being ostracized.
