Didn't the TV show exhaust the plot of the book after Season 1? So I guess that's the most obvious answer to your question. But maybe you're talking about differences between Season 1 and the book. I'm not that much a student of either to be able to say.

On the TV show, now in Season 4, has it totally run out of ideas? Does it become a little ridiculous for Gilead to continue to allow June to cause trouble, when it could just put her on the wall and be done with her? That's like letting James Bond figure out how to escape from a gas chamber rather than just shooting him. Something in the new season struck me as so absurd that I haven't watched any more episodes. I won't mention specifics in case you haven't watched it.
