We have had several more fights and another stabbing (in this case slashing is a better description), this time an inmate took a long cut in the back it extended from the shoulder to the center of his back exposing the anterior rib bones (the weapon was never recovered).
We also had an inmate crap himself during a transport; that resulted in something like 16 hours of overtime while the officers cleaned up the inmate, the transport vehicle and even the inmate's restraints.
On New Years I worked a double in the tower watching for escaping inmates and zombie dogs, sadly I saw neither.

The last couple of nights I have had the luxury of working an outside hospital gig; that is when we have an inmate that has been admitted to a hospital and there are a couple of officers on watch to make sure that he does not molest the staff (which is rather common in those situations) or try to escape (which has also happened).
I have been watching the inmate that had been stabbed in the back. He got something like 37 stitches. It was a rather long cut; in my opinion it was probably done with a razor blade.
The hospital had 4 inmates in 2 adjoining rooms, so there were 8 officers stationed in the hallway watching them. It was like a little C.O. party. And it was a nice break from working inside the prison.
Anyway I have 2 days off and I plan to enjoy them so...
