Hello

Unread post

My name is Nikki. I'm not even sure I'm posting correctly because this is my first time using a forum. Hopefully it's going alright! I am from North Carolina. I like to read fantasy, mystery and fiction. I just finished reading Bram Stokers Dracula and I enjoyed it very much. I just picked up the Lewis Black book, Nothing Sacred, which a kind of different read for me, but it seems to be amusing enough.

I have a BA in English, so in college I used to read a lot, but since I graduated over a year ago I've been a bit lazy. I'd like to start reading more and I am open to suggestions!

Hello Tonks, welcome to Booktalk!

Yes, your introduction is at the right place, so for a first time navigating a forum you're doing very well.
Make yourself at home, explore the different threads, and if you have any questions, just ask.

I'm delighted you love fiction. We have three fiction selections in the fiction forum, and you're also welcome to join the side-bar discussion of "Wicked" by Gregory Maguire.

Our current fiction discussion is "No Country for old Men", by Cormac McCarthy.
Would you like to join it?

I suppose "Tonks" is from Harry Potter ? If so, that would make you the third Booktalk member, (with Constance and me) who admits to reading and loving Harry Potter. BT is a little strange in that respect, so a member called Tonks is just what we need. 8)
Ophelia.

Oh yes, my name is from Harry Potter. I completely love the Harry Potter series. I just got the entire hardback collection in the nice little mini chest for my birthday. Very nice. I know most people think it's for kids, but everyone needs to feel like a kid again sometimes. :-)

I'll have to look into the No Country for Old Men discussion. I just saw the movie and i'm hoping the book is better. :D

Lewis Black the comedian? That guy is hilarious and one of my favorites.

Yes, Louis Black the comedian. It's actually a pretty amusing book. He writes exactly like he speaks. You can almost feel his blood pressure rising as you read. :D

Welcome, Tonks! I have recently become a fan of Harry Potter. A friend of mine gave me all of the books and told me to try the first one. She was that confident, I'd be hooked. Well, I am. So, it looks like there are a few of us here now!
Booktalk is a great community and I hope you enjoy it here!
