Hi,

my name is Sandra and as you can think I'm new here. I found booktalk because I searched for a forum where I can talk about my favorite books etc although I didn't have much time to read lately.
I'm 17 years old and like all kinds of fantasy books. I also try to write stories myself, but that's pretty hard sometimes.
I'm from Germany and that's why sometimes my english probably sounds a bit weird. I hope it's understandable though, but I don't think it's that bad... : ) However, if there's something wrong with my sentences please tell me for me to be able to do it better the next time.
Well, I think that should be enough for the introduction.

As you can see this is an international forum, and members whose mother tongue is not English are more than welcome.

I find that reading people's posts and posting on a forum such as BT do wonders to keep up with English.

You might be our first German member, but hopefully we attract some more. You seem to have started out quite well. And your English is excellent too.

A few years ago my wife and I went to Greece for a vacation, and on the way back our airplane stopped in Frankfurt. It was quite frustrating to only see the airport in Frankfurt. We were on the ground for no more than 20 minutes. The airport in Frankfurt is all on one floor and we had to run full speed to get to our connecting flight. It was seriously crazy. We ran as fast as we could for what seemed like 1/2 mile inside this massive looooooong airport. But we made our flight...barely.

In the next year or two we might be visiting some of my wife's family who live in Germany so I'm looking forward to that. From the air Germany looks beautiful. We kept staring out the window wishing we could explore your country.

Greetings from New Jersey to Germany!
Germany is on my must-see-one-day list. My mother was born there and did not come to America until she was 12 and some of our German cousins have made frequent visits to the US. Embarassingly, even with the close connection, the extent of my German speaking is: counting to 12, chocolate milk, and some regional expressions my Oma used that do not seem to be known by Germans not from her area. With my embarrasing German in mind, your English is stellar.

Thanks for the compliment. I really try to do my best.
New Jersey... wow, that's pretty far away. I never was on a really long journey before, but I hope, I'm able to go there some time. On my must-see-one-day list there's probably Japan in the first place. I don't really know why, but I think the contry and culture is interesting. It would just be a little hard to cope with the language.
