I'm a new mother and am working full time. I just need something to do for myself. I love reading and I figured having someone to talk to about my books would be a fun, relaxing thing for me. I just a need a little escape sometimes. My husband is not the reading type. Well, anyways, I just finished Ken Follett's World Without End and it was GREAT! Now, I am reading The Poisonwood Bible. Picked it up at half-price books. Anyone read it before? Seems pretty good so far but I'm only on the 50th page.
Anyways, Hello Everyone!

Re: Poisonwood Bible
I thought The Poisonwood Bible was excellent. It has been a few years since I read it, though. Recently, I read Barbara Kinsolvers non-fiction book, now I can't recall the title, maybe Animal, Vegetable, Mineral?, anyway, it is about her adventures with a year of trying to 'live off the land'. I have to admit I liked her fiction work better.

Yeah, that is the name of it. My sister really liked that book and I have it on my list of things to read. I just love Barbara Kingsolver's fiction definitely. It is so amazing what she does with language.Recently, I read Barbara Kinsolvers non-fiction book, now I can't recall the title, maybe Animal, Vegetable, Mineral?

Re: Poisonwood Bible
Kingsolver has written a few books. I haven't read any, but wasn't Poisonwood Bible part of the Oprah club?

Re: Poisonwood Bible
Probably, but Oprah has good taste.
Hilary Clinton also really liked this book.

Re: Poisonwood Bible
The Poisonwood Bible is the best book I've ever read. I just started it for the third time, and I almost never reads books more than once.
If anyone knows of an online discussion on this book I would be very interested.
Thanks,
Rich
