Re: What music are you currently listening to?
I just downloaded the Black Keys new album "Brothers," which is amazing. It sounds like some of Muddy Waters early Chess Records recordings. Very cool stuff.
Also, Tom Waits just released a live album called "Glitter & Doom" that's been in heavy rotation lately.
Other stuff in my library:
Social Distortion
Etta James
P.J. Harvey
Faith No More
Johnny Cash
Bruce Springsteen
Portishead
Like me, my music collection is very schizophrenic....

Black Keys is one of my favorite groups, & Brothers is an excellent album.
Joad have you heard Hacienda? Dan Auerback produced their album.

No, I haven't heard them. Thanks for the link, I'll have to check it out. They are just a phenomenal band... I picked up thethickfreakness awhile ago, and I love the progression of their music. I have to admit, I'm glad they got away from Danger Mouse.... I like Attack & Release, but they are better when they are rockin'

Is that the one for "Attack & Release"? If so, yes, I own a copy. Generally when I listen to the Black Keys I wish I could play guitar, when I watch the DVD Patrick Carny makes me wish I could play drums. Man, that kid can wail on the skins...

Re: What music are you currently listening to?
My favorite song by them is "I'll be your man" I was bummed when I saw it wasn't on the DVD, but it's still fantastic. I'd love to see them, but it would have to be at a smaller venue, and I think they are too big now...
Right now, Jerry Lee Lewis "Live at the Star Club" just came on iTunes. It's an unbelievable, hard-to-find, recording. It was right after Jerry Lee crashed and burned -- I guess that happens when you marry your 14-year-old cousin -- but he's never sounded better. If you can find it, I'd suggest picking it up.

Joad, "Ill be your man" was the song that got me into them. I also like "Lies."
