Re: Calling all Literature Enthusiasts
I'm currently working my way through ancient history. I'd love to read Paradise Lost one day. I thought I owned the book. I was going to read it with someone from another website but apparently I don't own it - I was sure I did (I do that often). I try and do one fun one and one serious one at a time but sometimes work gets in the way of my fun. I'm currently reading Aeschylus for my fun one and you already know the serious one I'm reading. I think I'll do Idylls of the King next. I've never tackled any real poetry so this will be a first for me. I heard Paradise Lost was very, very good. I'm hesitant to read Mis because I read one book by Hugo - Toilers of the Sea and omg it was soooo terrible. TERRIBLE. Not Moby Dick terrible but pretty bad.

Welcome to BookTalk. I enjoy classics. Post something here if you want to read with other members. People will find your suggestions and read with you if interested.Archangel wrote:Hello everybody! Pres. C......I'd read Paradise Lost again if you want to get a group going.

For sure. I'll let you know when I come across it at Goodwill. I'm sure it will wind up there. There are too many copies in circulation for it not to.

Sounds good. I think I still have a copy. Or, when you're ready I'll get it from the library.

You're gonna find Paradise Lost at your local Goodwill, Pres. C? Wanna bet you won't? Where were you when we read PL here a couple of years ago? We had the distinguished Tulip, Saffron, yours truly, and maybe one or two others in on that. It was okay, not great, about average for our discussions. I'm a little afraid you might find it Moby-Dickish.

You can find the link to booktalk discussion of Paradise Lost at the bottom of this page. http://www.booktalk.org/paradise-lost-b ... -f103.html - control-F Milton
I liked it, except when Milton said Osiris and Isis are devils.
What happened to the movie? http://www.paradiselost.org/2-M-wbanner-NOW.html
