Here's one I'm NOT reading now:
Presumed Innocent by Scott Turow.
This is my second attempt with the audio book and it just doesn't grab me. The writing's good and I like where the plot is going but after an hour of very slow going it's just not a book for me.

Reading The Murder of Roger Ackroyd by Agatha Christie.
Howard, I have found that I have to listen to an audio book 2-3 times. Especially if it's a new author. I used to drive for a living so it was no big deal. Now I don't have the time or patience.

I'm in a similar situation in the sense I have time every day to devote to audio books while I'm lifting weights in the gym. Like any type of book I'm looking to be entertained. I found The Presumed Innocent audio book something like "work" because I had to force myself to pay attention and follow the characters and the story.2006S197 wrote:Reading The Murder of Roger Ackroyd by Agatha Christie.

One of the many rules I try to live my life by is to enjoy myself at every moment possible; doubly so when I'm engaged in some form of entertainment. I'll shut off a bad movie or change the channel on a bad TV show for the same reason.

the Sky always Hears Me and the hills don't mind by, Kirstin Cronn-Mills
a local Minnesota author. It is a fictional story of life in mid-Nebraska where she grew up. I'm only a little ways into it, but so far it is fascinating.

Tuesday finished The Adventures of Tom Sawyer
Just finished The Picture of Dorain Gray a few minutes ago.
Going to start Great Expectations in a couple minutes. Then I think it will be The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn or maybe A Tale of Two Cities.

Nicholas Nickleby is my favorite fictional character. Have you read that book? Or Bleak House? Great Expectations is wonderful though, esp the part about the aged P.

Great Expectations was an AWESOME book! I'm surprised I haven't read another Dickens novel. I think I just might. I have A Tale of 2, Christmas Carol, The Old Curiosity Shop, among others. I do have Nicholas Nickelby but unfortunately it's the second book and I'm missing the first. I've bought all my Dickens from Goodwill so I will have to wait for it to arrive there.
