Re: What are you reading right now...
I love short stories but haven't read many new ones. A recommendation I would like to make is the journals of Lewis and Clark. These are seven volumes (I think) and somewhat repetitive and difficult to read (this a/c terrible spelling) We first listened to them on tape and they sure made a long trip more interesting.
One of the most interesting aspect of these journals is their view of Indians (native Americans. . . although how they could be when L & C were mostly not in American on their journey) anyway they and Jefferson viewed them as much more similar to themselves as opposed to say black slaves at the time.

"Sappho's Leap" - Erica Jong
It's very interesting so far, at least to me it is. There are a few negative reviews and several positive reviews, I guess it just depends upon what you're looking for. It's your standard woman marries a man she doesn't love, and spends her time pining over the one she really wants to be with. But take that and mix it with mythological beings and gods and you've got an interesting story. I'm liking it so far!

I'm reading some Terminator Salvation "official" spin-off novel set in Alaska. It cost ¥200 over here ($2) and is train-reading fodder.
