Glenn Beck: Quake Was Message From God.

http://www.newser.com/story/114149/glen ... m-god.html
Look. I don't want to belittle the suffering of the japanese, or the victims of other natural disasters. But this earth quake, Katrina, tornados, avalanches, mud-slides, floods... these are only impressive on a human scale. They only matter to tiny people. They are no sign of god's wrath, and they certainly do not amount to an armageddon of any kind.

People were killed, and thousands are left in missery, and no doubt this is a terrible thing for the people involved. But that is no cosmic wrath. That is no anger of god.

You think shifting japan 13 feet is impressive? You think that was momentous? Why don't you ask that planetary collision that created the moon what a real catastrophic event is?
In the absence of God, I found Man.
-Guillermo Del Torro

Are you pushing your own short comings on us and safely hating them from a distance?

Is this the virtue of faith? To never change your mind: especially when you should?

Young Earth Creationists take offense at the idea that we have a common heritage with other animals. Why is being the descendant of a mud golem any better?

Don't you think some people need to feel that these disasters are part of some great cosmic plan that will reveal itself to us along with the answer to life, the universe, and everything?

Without these outrages conclusions societies would crumble, religious factions would topple, and the supermarket rags would go out of business, and athletes would have no one to thank! But seriously without the belief in a higher power to blame or go to for solace what will people have to denigrate or revere?

I tell you friend it is always better to be the one with the haves instead of the have-nots, even if all you have is an inexplicable need to venerate a vengeful deity hell bent on your destruction.

Luke 21:10-11 (King James Version)

10 Then said he unto them, Nation shall rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom:

11 And great earthquakes shall be in divers places, and famines, and pestilences; and fearful sights and great signs shall there be from heaven.

Unfortunately I believe that these quotes are a bit vague, in the grand scheme of history such can be said about various periods of time that both predate the bible, and humanity as we know it. We as sentient beings tend to measure the importance of events as it exclusively pertains to our own well being.

It is time we recognized the boundless narcissism and self-deceit of the saved. It is time we acknowledged how disgraceful it is for the survivors of a catastrophe to believe themselves spared by a loving God, while this same God drowned infants in their cribs.

"[The bible] does not contain a single sentence that could not have been written by a man or woman living in the first century." Sam Harris, Letter To a Christian Nation

"Those before them indeed plotted, but Allah struck at the foundation of their building, and then the roof fell down upon them, from above them, and the torment overtook them from directions they did not perceive." (Surat An-Nahl (The Bees):26)

Does this mean the Koran is true and the bible is not? Or are they Both the DIVINE WORD?

Christianity, Islam , Judaism came from the same place and about the same time, and all were written by man over a extended period of time. Man wrote the good books that are taken so literally by so many. Never once have I heard it said that the good Lord himself took up his mighty pen. History is written by the winners and the winners happened to be battling polytheism on several fronts. Personally I don't see why its necessary to believe that these books contain definite secrets to our future instead of compilations of stories meant to inspire and be studied for their underlying meanings. In theory , without people muddling it up, these books are beautiful. Fanciful histories of people gone by, who probably had no idea what these words would do in a world where money, power, and God all have the same meaning, control over the masses.
