The Glass Bead Game is the overwhelming favorite. I am reading it now. The theme of a future elite who explore the relation between music and mathematics is wonderful.

Not that it makes much of a difference, there are usually only a few people voting, but I think it would be cool to have an actual poll application too -- I've seen forums where it will list the names of who voted for each choice. (I'm abstaining from the fiction vote, as I'm not sure I would participate.)Jozanny wrote:I know I treat my laptops badly and don't upgrade them every 5 seconds, but BT doesn't use actual poll threads? You vote in post rather than click those nice dots or squares? Chris, where is thou application, or am I more mind feeble then I know?

What happened to my nomination for The Tortilla Curtain? Did I post it incorrectly?
I'll give my three votes to Glass Bead.

Can I please use my three on Glass bead game, in the hope that I have made 25 posts by the time voting ends
If I haven't then obviously disregard.

There really wasn't any support for my selection, yours, or Giselle's; Lindad. I think they just threw my book in there as a 'filler'. ![Smile :)](https://www.booktalk.org/images/smilies/icon_smile.gif)

@Camacho...oh, well, I'll go with Glass Beads. I guess you, Giselle and I are just too avant garde for the rest of the group. LOL

The Glass Bead Game does sounds interesting, though I don't know whether I'd actually read it.
FYI, I read E. O. Wilson's book Consilience several years ago. Since his writing style isn't that great, I'm reluctant to read a novel of his.

When it comes to fiction, it seems like the books that are the most notable and avoided by the mass paperback readership is the way to go. ![Wink ;)](https://www.booktalk.org/images/smilies/icon_wink.gif)
