Hello everyone!
My name is Robert and I am 24 years old. I am about to start graduate school for a master's in international studies. I never really developed an aptitude for reading, besides the occasional fantasy novel (Tracy Hickman and Margaret Weis being my favorite authors), but I really want to try and change that. I have a lot to be thankful for so I just want to try and push myself to become a more well-read individual.
Anyways, I look forward to our future discussions! Thank you to the creators and supporters of this website.

Welcome to BookTalk.org ![Smile :)](https://www.booktalk.org/images/smilies/icon_smile.gif)
I suppose if you're going to read only one genre fantasy is the best choice. Do I sound biased? LOL Fantasy is my favorite genre by far.

Re: salutations
Welcome. I have just started reading fantasy within the past year or two. I am currently reading The Sword of Truth series by Terry Goodkind. Since I don't know a lot about the genre, I am always looking for recommendations. Are there any good fantasies with strong female main characters? Just wondering what you think.
Re: salutations
Actually, to finish off my favorite series of books in the Dragonlance series, Margaret Weis wrote the Dark Disciple Trilogy. The main character is a female and I found the three books, Amber and Ashes, Amber and Iron, and Amber and Blood all to be good reads. If you like them, I highly recommend backtracking a bit and reading from the beginning of the series, starting with the Dragonlance Chronicle's Dragon of Autumn Twilight.
Re: salutations
Someone gifted the beginning of the series to me awhile ago, but I have not yet had a chance to read them. I think I might give it a shot and I'll let you know how it goes. Thanks for the recommendation.
