The Eleventh Hour by Graeme Base was always one of my faves to read to my kids when they were small. Entertaining enough for adult and child! Great art work too!

The fiction discussion forum has a thread going I think you will benefit from. I did my own post in there about my childhood favorites. I was a typical boy who loved mystery and creepy fun.

To name a few, I used to love curious george, madeline, a pocket for corduroy, etc! That reminds me, I have to introduce some of my childhood favorite to my nieces. I'm always searching long and hard for good educational books for them. Always trying to get them a wide range of books to read.

Do The Hobbit and the Lord of the Rings trilogy qualify as children's books? If so, they're my favorites by far.
Money is a lousy way of keeping score.
